Today I go in to the hospital for abdominal surgery.
I’ve written and rewritten this blog post trying to find something eloquent to say, but it turns out eloquent isn’t really my thing. Instead, have some bullet points:
- This surgery has been planned for a while, there’s no emergency, and I’m not dying.
- Recovery for this surgery typically takes about 6 weeks.
- I would love to have visitors once I get through my initial recovery and can stay awake for reasonable periods of time. (If I had to guess, this will probably be in about 10 days.)
- I’m feeling very relaxed and prepared going into this procedure. I have a lot of confidence in both my surgical and homecare teams 🙂
