Saturday was the annual Fremont Solstice Parade. Low-70s, overcast, and dry – pretty much perfect parade weather.
As usual, the parade proper was preceded by the (naked and painted) solstice cyclists. There were many great paint jobs/outfits, including – unsurprisingly – many takes on Wonder Woman. Also a dramatic increase in mermaids this year, for some reason.
The parade has a few ground rules: no motorized vehicles, no words, and no logos. This year’s parade was more political than usual. It included two anti-Trump floats in addition to the usual pro-environment entries. This year also saw the return of the Pastafarians with a new Flying Spaghetti Monster.
I wasn’t particularly well situated for photography, but here are a few that came out. Fair warning: the cyclist photos below contain nudity.
